Most of you already know the importance of supplements in aiding the recovery process after a
challenging CrossFit workout. At RARE, we pride ourselves in supplying some of the
cleanest on the market and for that reason we stand behind SFH Supplements.
In a perfect world we would get everything our body needs from the food we eat.
That being said, we all strive to “eat clean” but the majority of us usually fall short
of giving our body what it needs from diet alone. If we ate the proper amount of fish
our bodies require then we wouldn’t need fish oil. Fish has never been one of my
favorite foods and I know I don’t even come close to supplying what my body needs
so I have always supplemented fish oil. Numerous studies have shown supplementing
with fish oil has a variety of health benefits including reducing inflammation, improving
blood lipid profiles, improving cognitive function, preventing cardiovascular disease,
increasing immune function, and reduced risk of cancers.
Over the years I have tried a variety of different brands of fish oil and have come to learn
two things. First, they are not all created equal and second, like most things in life you get
what you pay for. At RARE we offer two high quality brands of fish oil, SFH and Pure Pharma.
I personally like the SFH tangerine flavor. I take fish oil for all of the health benefits it provides
but one of the biggest reasons I take it is for recovery. I definitely feel less sore and recover faster
while taking fish oil on a daily basis. If you have questions about taking fish oil make sure you talk
it over with your doctor and as always, don’t hesitate to talk with any of your coaches at RARE!
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that we are running a promotional discount on SFH Fish Oil this week
at the box. Now would be the perfect time to try it if you haven’t already. You won’t be disappointed
with the benefits.
