4. “CrossFit is a cult.”
What? No.
I’ve heard all of the jokes: how CrossFit is like Fight Club
except for the fact that we never stop talking about it, and
the like. While it may seem that CrossFitters never shut the
heck up about their sport, it’s because CrossFit represents
so much more to us than just some ridiculous rep scheme and
variation of movements–it’s a lifestyle and a community.
For one, CrossFit has managed to inspire thousands of sedentary
people to lift heavy weights. I think that’s pretty freaking
amazing right there. Not to mention, the community in CrossFit
boxes around the country is unlike anything else I’ve encountered.
I’ve visited quite a few gyms and each and every one has welcomed
me with open arms. Members will celebrate your PRs with you and
help you to achieve goals you never imagined were possible.
Everyone pushes each other through the toughest workouts and
genuinely wants to see their friends succeed.
